So leaving home, the place you go to every night, the place you let your things live. It will all be gone by the time of a few hours. Maybe this is good for us? But it could end in disaster but were trying, were trying so hard to leave the place we call home. For a better beginning, for a chance to live.
It will definitely be different, and a challenge. And the four dogs who will accompany us will be confused but hopefully happy! We are taking them probably as far as they have ever traveled but instead of in the back of a pet delivering truck, the back of ours. The long car rides that await us are going to be quite long but we can handle it. We can handle four dogs. We can handle a small living space, we can handle a temporary new home and make it ours.
The small space will be a challenge, with limited privacy and a smaller wardrobe we will be mainly outside. The wonderful nature we usually ignore will be more present than ever, the home that will change every few days will be exiting! The dogs will have so much territory to explore and we will too, adjusting to each scenario with our thoughts wrapped tight around our heads.
We have actually managed to come up with some passes to an amusement park that is located across the US and even in other countries but we will be sticking to our borders. The parks will give us something extra if we are lost in boredom and one happens to be nearby. They will make it seem more like a vacation than a life but that can be a good thing because I will be wrapped up in work for a good portion of time. The work I'm currently doing now definitely takes less time than my school district in Maine which I've grown up in for my whole life. The work is more direct but I like that, simple, no questions asked.
I may feel a bit lonely having no friends to meet at first but I believe I will find some people that I can talk to, and maybe even relate to! First I will probably try to get used to this new living space, not having unlimited bathroom time, not as many showers, and a bed as a bedroom. I do believe it will make me more grateful of what I do have. I am a bit spoiled in what I have and I know there are people who would love to do what I'm doing.
The experience will be great for our family and I'm truly excited to see what it's like living in our 30ft RV.
First want to say that I LOVE this picture of you Callie! I am so very excited for your adventure. And speaking of schoolwork, this will be an amazing education for you as well as all the challenges and fun you will experience. I’ll miss you like crazy and will be checking in to see how all of you are doing. I hope you get in the habit of writing in the journal I got you every day. That will become a precious treasure for you. Love you my Callie girl ❤️😘
Callie, there will be challenges, for sure but, it sounds very exciting too. Are you keeping a journal? Well, school work will probably be all the writing you’ll want to be doing. I hope it’s a wonderful adventure.
