Vegas, part deux

Vegas was fun!

One night we took a Lyft to the Fremont Street Experience. Basically, this is old downtown Vegas, but all dressed up again.

There is a giant screen covering the street that plays music and a light show every hour... very cool. Plus all the old classic casinos have gotten a face lift and their neon lights glow like in their heyday.

Street performers do their thing at each cross street. One was a group of look alikes, including 2Pac. Looked just like him.

There was a group of break dancers with awesome moves. And I've saved the best for last, the best was actually THE worst, but gave us some much needed laughs. A Michael Jackson impersonator, who was white and had hair more like Kenny G. He was awful, just awful! So bad that you can't walk away. But eventually we did.

Another night we hailed another Lyft ride and went to New York New York. We had a fantastic meal at Urban Tom's of double cheese burgers and fries and a cocktail (for the adults). Pricey! But delicious!  After our meal we explored the stores and the strip from outdoors. The hotel put a lot of effort into recreating iconic New York sites.

I dragged the family across the street (escalators and a foot bridge make the crossing much safer than in 2004 when we had to play real life frogger to cross). I desperately wanted to go to the M&M store and the Coca Cola store. But they were closed by the time we got over there. Oh well, so has been the story of our trip.

Another night we enjoyed a meal at Applebees, because it was too hot to cook at the camper. And so ended our trip to Sin City.

Like they say, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas....

As a preface to this piece, I would like to let you know two things. 1. I wrote this for my Sociology class today. I thought it was okay, and since I haven't had time to keep you all posted on our tra
