Still here!

Good evening!

It's been a while again. We've been movin' and shakin' our way west and time is flying by!

We've been to Mountainair, NM, where we stayed at a nice little campground mostly occupied by windmill workers. While we were there, we visited 2 of the 3 Salinas Peublo Missions National Monuments, and learned about ther Native Americans who lived there alongside Spanish Missionaries hundreds of years ago. And we saw the best sunset I've ever seen.

Then we moved to the outskirts of Albuquerque, where we stayed at Enchanted Trails RV Park and Trading Post. An establishment that has been in business along historic Route 66 since its heyday. We toured their classic RV display with classic cars and all. We also toured the Petroglyph National Park and saw some amazing ancient rock drawings.

We hopped on Route 40 and crossed the continental divide in New Mexico and have the pictures to prove it. (The truck did ok and we didn't overheat!)

We continued down (and up and down and up and down....) Route 40 and landed at "Take it Easy RV "park'" (a big parking lot right off the highway) in Winslow, AZ. We were shocked when we arrived and learned we had crossed into the Pacific Time Zone. We knew Arizona doesn't participate in Daylight Savings, but we just didn't put that together and prepare ourselves mentally for the change with our cross over the boarder. (and shame on Google for not alerting us!)

While we were in Winslow we dragged Callie to the "Standing on the Corner" statues to get our picture taken. She didn't get it, but we did and I was so excited to see the little area they have set up. Then we headed back east a bit to tour the Petrified Forest National Park. (AMAZING!)

The next day we were back on the road, north this time, we crossed the continental divide (again) in Arizona this time (by surprise, we weren't expecting it, so no proof with a picture)

And... finally. We landed here... a quiet boondocking spot on at the end of a Forest Road in Kaibab National Forest. We are 2 miles from the East Rim of the Grand Canyon. We can't see it, because we're in a forest, but it's there! We've taken a few days here to just relax because we've moved and seen so much so quickly. Sometimes you just need to stop and look at the trees.

Tomorrow we are headed down the mountain to see the Canyon. I really don't know what to expect, each National Park we've visited so far has been unique and amazing in its own way. I can't wait to check it out.

So, we are 3 hours behind you now, PST, my head is still in CST, the dogs don't know what's going on because they're hungry when it isn't supper time, everyone is very tired, and I think I might go to bed after I post this.

I'll leave you with the 3rd full moon we've seen out west... The Strawberry Moon, tonight.

Stay safe guys. We love you all. ✌
