Good morning! I am updating you from the road, as we begin our 3rd day on the road.

Our first morning started with a bump. We headed out around 10am. Our tire pressure system on the Colonel immediately started alerting us that the tire pressures were rising at an alarming rate. We stopped several times on 202 to release pressure (it was -9, so driving would cause them to heat up, and air expands as it warms). It was at our last stop that Mike diagnosed the problem was our brake system. So we turned around, headed home (5 minutes away), and Mike was able to make a temporary fix. We were back on the road by 2, and drove until about 6PM. We camped out at the Walmart in Wallingford CT.

Day 2 started well. We were all up by 730, and in the truck by 830 (not too shabby!). Immediately, the brake issue returned. Luckily we were right next to a parts store, so were pulled in, Mike bought the pesky thing causing all the problems, replaced it, and we were back on our way by 10.

The rest of our day went smoothly. We saw skylines of the NY burrows, and Philadelphia. We crossed the Tapan Zee bridge. We stopped for gas twice. Once at a rest area, where after letting the dogs stretch their legs, we exited using the northbound exit (ooops!). So we back tracked about 10 miles until we could turn around and get back going south. We ended our day in Newark DE, at a Cabela's. This was so much nicer than Walmart. They had dog kennels just next to where we parked, so the pack was able to get some fresh air and play while we got set up for the night. I was so tired from all the co-piloting I did, i was in bed by 8.

This morning we were up at 7, and driving by 8. Yesterday, we choose a campground in Advance, NC to stay until Friday. Our reservation starts tonight, but we don't expect to make it there until tomorrow. We booked it, then realized there was just no way. We have only made it half way there in 2 days...6 hours towing is exhausting.

Right now, Callie is schooling in the back seat. Mike is turning onto 695 to avoid Baltimore and I am wrapping up this post. I've got to get back to co-piloting!

Have a great day everyone!
