We visited Ft Meyers Beach on Thursday. Now this is a place we all expect when we'r go to the beach up north. A busy boardwalk full of bars, ice cream shops, bars, souvenir shops, bars...
Happy hour starts at 2. Open air seating everywhere with musicians playing at each stop. Spring-breakers filled the beachsand real estate. Music playing from their cell phones as they drank their seltzer alcoholic beverages with no calories.
It was packed, and high tide, but we found a little slice of sand and basked in the Florida sun. The water felt much warmer here, and there was a sandbar just off the coast that you could see. As we waded out into the water it rose up to our chest (maybe a little higher on me, short people problems) and then it got shallow again and we were only knee deep. Pretty cool.
Callie built a snowman in the sand, because she was so impressed with how white the sand was. Then she again dug a huge hole, but this time found water right away. She swam and swam, did handstands, and even pulled out a few moves from her swim team days. Mike fell asleep for a few minutes, a sure sign of relaxation. I people watched. A great day.
I'll leave you with a few pictures from the day. As always, stay tuned for more, and please stay healthy!
